Balmoral Blues
It's our 80th episode! This week we'll be hearing new music from Jon Gindick Band, known in the blues world as an accomplished harmonica player and instructor. We'll also hear from Spanish left-handed guitarist and singer Susan Santos, and classically-trained singer Lauren Anderson, who considered a career in opera before finding the blues. Rounding out the show is powerful blues, jazz, and motown vocalist Joanne Broh; and listen for Jimmy Johnson and The Swampers on I'd Rather Go Blind. Tune in 2pm Tues & 9pm Thurs at CKSV-FM 93.7, or listen NOW.

Wicked Cool CD

Joanne Broh Band's release, "Wicked Cool", is a superb collaboration of musicians, song writers, and recording engineer for a stylistically eloquent nod to rockin' blues and soul.

All songs are original compositions by West Coast artists. The music ranges from searing to soulful with impeccable guitar leads from Jerry Zybach and a solid and imaginative rhythm section: Jim Badalich on bass and Dan e. Miller playing drums.

The band collaborates with fearless blues players Hank Shreve and Mitch Kashmar, blues harp; Dana Heitman (the Daddies); a stellar horn section featuring Dave Bender and Sean Flannery, trumpets, and Linda Kanter, sax. Horns arranged by Joe McCarthy.

Joanne Broh's unique voice is sublime on all tracks and expresses the emotional distinction of each song.

We are very happy to be promoted by Todd Glazer, recipient 2015 Keeping the Blues Alive Award by The Blues Foundation.
